12 Crafts of Christmas: Day 11 A few Mishaps

4 things I didn’t do for Christmas this year – But there’s always January

– or – Crafts Undone.

There were a handful of crafts and projects I intended to make/do during December but I simply ran of out of “oomph.”

1. I wanted to repair a hole in my husband’s sweater.  If you catch these things when they are small, they are easy to fix.  The adage “A stitch in time saves nine” is still very much true.  I improvise on a basic sock-darning technique, which you can learn easily from about.com.  I’ll still do this it just won’t be a Christmas surprise.

2. I wanted to send out homemade Christmas cards to about 25 people.  But the amount of steps and work to do that was enormous, and I couldn’t squeeze in the photoshoot for our family.  I guess I’ll just have to go for birthday cards.

3. I had a really great playlist I was going to make for my son, including such hits as Raffi’s Bananaphone, and Devendra Banhart’s Baby.  But I never compiled it and made it.  Also I needed to get a cd player.  Plenty of time for this later too.

4.  My sister and I intended to make this Christmas Garland. Whereas hers made it onto her beautiful tree, mine remained separate stars in a mesh bag.  Oops!  There’s always next year.
